1. The Wizard of Oz is full of childhood nostalgia for me not just because of its magical properties; it's my mum's favourite movie so watching it together was particularly exciting. Tonight I saw Oz: The Great and Powerful which is about how the young wonderful Wizard of Oz came to be. WOW. Everything from the make up to the costumes to the scenery to the story line was dazzling. It was long, but not a painful length - everything was relevant. I was super impressed also that there were a lot of ties to The Wizard of Oz; it wasn't just its own version that used the platform of the first to get attention. I'm pretty sure it's going to become the grown-old version of what The Wizard of Oz was for me when I was younger because (a) JAMES FRANCO (b) MILA KUNIS (c) MICHELLE WILLIAMS (d) MAGIC (e) HISTORY (f) DISNEY (g) LIFE JUST LIFE. Need I go on? I could, I really could.
2. Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof, we have a serious issue. You wear too many gorgeous things. And you make me contradict myself because there can never be too many gorgeous things, can there? Also you fill up my instagram feed with pictures of your adorable baby. Also your baby and your baby-to-be have the coolest names ever.

4. I love the Draw My Life videos and Louis' is so interesting. He's had a really spontaneously led life that a lot of people would be afraid to follow but wow is it amazing. This is what I call freedom.
5. I really don't know what to feel about this whole Taylor Swift condemning-girls-to-hell thing. I saw this on tumblr and thought it made a very good point:
Taylor Swift Is Pissed At Amy Poehler And Tina FeyTaylor Swift lashes out in the April issue of Vanity Fair about being humiliated by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey during the 2013 Golden Globe Awards. In response to Fey and Poehlers jabs about her love life, Taylor told Vanity Fair “There’s a special place in Hell for women who don’t help other women.”
Okay. As somebody who genuinely enjoy’s Taylor Swift’s music (and even finds her to be quite talented), here is my problem with her…
This is a girl who has built a career off of victimizing herself, time and time again. This is a girl who is 23 years old, and publicly mocked her ex-boyfriend at the Grammys in the most childish way ever. This is a girl who wrote an entire song about Camilla Belle being a slut. And yet, when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler crack a joke about her, rather than laugh it off like any normal celebrity would do, she victimizes herself, again. And even worse, shes turning it into an issue of women “supporting” each other .. I’m sorry, but give me a fucking break.
Its one thing to constantly victimize yourself, but its another thing when you constantly slam others (and other women) in your songs, and then try to play the victim when it comes back and bites you in the ass. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t work that way honey.
I probably wouldn’t be as annoyed by this if she stood behind herself and the crap she does, but the fact that she acts as if shes allowed to publicly bash others without anybody bashing her in return is just… stupid.
Suck it up grow a pair, Taylor Swift.
6. This is amazing:
Took 5 tabs of acid (first time doing it ever) and my friend gave me a bunch of acrylic paint. Painted it with my fingers tripping out of my mind. Also I’m colorblind, and don’t work with abstract work at all (I only have ever done drawing). Thought this was pretty wacky.
7. Dolce and Gabbana, you never fail to impress me. I would like to take this moment to extend my gratitude for fully dazzling my mind with your A/W 13 show. Truly, truly fantastic.
9. Bedroom dreams.

These are all really cool! I agree with you so much about Taylor Swift, she needs to write some songs that don't place her as the victim.

Thank you! It is tricky, sometimes I'm not sure whether she even realises because what one could describe as self expression another can see total moral/political/etc. issues with.
DeleteJust gonna focus on #9 because <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI KNOW RIGHT. Wandering club house inspiration right there.
DeleteI'm taking the Wizard of Oz aspect of this post as an omen to paint my shoes glittery red. Thanks for that.
