How have I spent the days? Let me count the ways

1. I made yet another card for a birthday on my little sister's behalf. It's Alice in Wonderland, which I never tire of. Neverevereverevereverever ever.

2. I submitted this to The Wandering.

3. I bought two lovely tops - a snugly oversized t-shirt and a flowery black shirt - for a total of $10 from a Neuw outlet. There were so many lovely things it was hard to only buy two, for two reasons (haha) - I didn't have much money and I was trying to stick to my rule of thinking of 3 ways to wear something (well) before I purchase it. THAT SHAT HARD.
Thank goodness this isn't a fashion blog so my looking shamefully awkward is mildly excused

4. On the same day I spent another $2 (!) to buy these divine second hand books. One's of the cartoon work of Giles for the Sunday Express and Daily Express. The other is a book of words. Hold on. I know all books are of words. But this one talks about words.Weird words and funny words and cool words and intelligent words and names and all sorts of things to nourish a vocabulary.
All cartoons by Carl Giles

5. I wrote three letters! Three whole letters! My my, this post is just full of numbers and counting. Two are for overseas - one to my grandparents and the other to my radical pen pal Eva. The third is to a dear friend of mine who wrote me a thank you note and who does that these days? So she needed to be acknowledged obviously. I find letters so endearing. The pleasure of re-reading them is incomparable to anything else.

6. I spent like a whole hour making my family lunch. A whole hour. I like cooking but I wouldn't dedicate that much time to a plain old every-other-Sunday kind of Sunday lunch that not even everybody is there for. But I did. Furthermore, I think having plenty of homework to need done in the next week is the perfect time to discover (or rediscover) passions.

7. I wrote an introductory piece about me for my lit homework that is exactly 150 words - count 'em. It's about me from the point of view of my alter ego - I chose my inner child. It took AGES to make myself write it (seriously it could count as its own era) because I just didn't know what to say. But then while I was doing some other homework I just had this sudden idea for it and started writing. It took about ten minutes to complete totally, and I'm quite happy with the result. I think you get to know me and my inner child well enough in what these 150 words allow.

Un-once upon a time, there were no princesses or dragons or knights in shining armour. There is, however, a girl called Katia who believed in all three. Not me Katia, but the grown-up-ish one, sixteen and two thirds old. But she doesn’t really like grown-ups, just adults.
She used to believe in things like knights in shining armour, but then she found out all this cool stuff about grrrl power being real and she’d rather be something like an AE/IOU or OB/GYN than a princess. So I’m sad that we don’t get to play princesses anymore but she lets me play with her brother Vincenzo sometimes so it’s okay.
I want to be an author but Katia has no idea anymore. We still both love reading, and sometimes the same books. We still wish we were older than we are, but Katia doesn’t want to actually get there just yet.

STOP RANDOMLY ROTATING MY PICTURES BLOGGER
Ugly please
8. My mum dug out this Coca-Cola collector's tray. I don't even like soft drink, but that's how much of a sucker I am for interesting artifacts. At the moment it's sitting on my little 70s phone table/seat thing with coloured candles my sisters made me for Christmas. I'm not sure I like it there because I like to actually use that table but we'll see how it goes.

9. I will never be done listening to this album. Grimes' Visions is one of the most amazing things to grace my ears. I don't feel particularly individual for posting her music because so many people do but how could I not? And I have spent an especially significant amount of time listening to this lately so IT COUNTS OKAY. (y do i yell so much srsly)

10. I worked on a very exciting art-related project with my excellent friend that hopefully I can share soon! It will be reallysuperhyperfantasticalcool. I'm going to leave you in suspense now MWAHAHAHA

but I'm not that mean so I'll give you a pleasing music video to an even more pleasing song to take your mind off of it.

Looking over this I feel sort of embarrassed that a lot of what I have done lately is quite focused on myself. It's good to take me time and blah blah but I'm trying to be careful not to stray from this so I'll be posting more aware and thoughtful things soon. Stay tuuuuuned.
